Pastor: Michael D. Finn-McKenzie

Pastor Mike has called Purcellville his home since 2012. All of his his 35+ years of ministry have been in Virginia; mostly in the central and southwest regions.  Bethany UMC is his first opportunity serve in Northern Virginia with its unique challenges and experiences

Pastor Mike is a graduate of Roanoke College, Salem Va and Wesley Theological Seminary at American University in Washington, DC.  He was born in Bluefield, West Virginia and raised in Roanoke, Virginia.

Pastor Mike is married to Elfie, who is the pastor of the Lovettsville United Methodist Charge. Mike and Elfie are the parents of two daughters, Bethany and Kristin.  Bethany works in Winchester and Kristin and her husband, Patrick live and work near Harrisonburg VA.  The remaining members of the family include 2 dogs:  Chloe (Bichon Frise), Daisy (Beagle) and a cat, Emma Lou (tabby).

Pastor Mike enjoys music and singing, good cups of coffee, bike riding around Purcellville, sharing stories and inviting others to worship on Sunday mornings.

    The service will begin at 9:00
    instead of 8:30.

    COVENANT is a 24-week,
    in-depth group bible study,
    in which people
    read and discuss the Bible together.

    Pastor Mike looks forward to leading others
    on this inspiring journey thru scripture.

    The first eight week session of
    will begin on Thursday, Sept. 11 at 7:00pm.

    A new class for young adults will begin on the same Sunday.  The class leader will be Nicole Miller for the first 6 weeks and Margie Hernandez will lead after that.  Please spread the word so that we can have a great turnout for this class.

    Starting on Wednesday ,
    September10th, 2014
    from 10:00 am – 11 am

    Every week before we start our study we chat, share a cup of coffee, tea or water. We share our prayer concerns for the week and send out cards to our neighbors. Together we PRAY for those on our list and for guidance to have an open heart and an open mind to the scripture. We are a loving and diverse group of ladies, each of us on a faith journey.

    PLEASE join us as we come together
    to learn and to share in the love of Christ.
